Mogalvin
MOGALVIN is continuously coated on both sides with a zinc coating. The hot dip process, pioneered by UNICOIL, provides a tight metallurgical bond between the steel and the coating. This process results in a material with the strength and formability of steel plus the corrosion protection of zinc. Zinc protects the base metal by providing a barrier to corrosive elements and also by the sacrificial nature of the coating. Available with special surface finishes, tailored for specific applications, and in variety of base metal grades and coating weights. It is widely used in many applications in the construction, HVAC, Appliance, Automotive and other industries.
Standards
Mogalvin is the brand name of the hot-dipped galvanized steel produced by UNICOIL. The cold-rolled steel strip is coated with zinc using a controlled and continuous hot-dipping process that results in a tight metallurgical bond between the steel and the coating. The mass of the zinc coating ranges from 40 to 400 g/m².
