UNICOIL PROVIDES ANTI-WEATHERING WARRANTY AS PER BELOW TABLE:

What is Anti-Weathering Warranty for Pre-Painted Galvanized Steel:
This warranty addresses aesthetic issues such as color fading, chalking, drop in gloss/shining, paint blisters, delamination, flaking etc indicating the ability of the painted surface to resist the degradation from weather conditions, involving UV radiation, moisture/humidity, temperature and general environmental exposure. It does not talk about corrosion, as it is expected that corrosion can start only after paint film degradation, exposing the metal coating followed by the base metal to corrosion causing elements.
What is Perforation Warranty for Pre-Painted Galvanized Steel:
This warranty addresses corrosion of base metal to the point of creating a hole (Perforation) in the Pre-Painted Galvanized Steel Panel. Corrosion takes place after the Paint film degradation, exposing the metal coating followed by the base metal to corrosion causing elements. This warranty considers the ability of the painted surface to resist the degradation from weather conditions, and the ability of metal coating to resist corrosion and the base metal thickness.
Hence, the number of years of warranty for Perforation will be higher than the Anti-Weathering warranty for Pre-Painted Galvanized Steel, as Anti-weathering warranty addresses aesthetics degradation while perforation warranty addresses total damage of panel – beyond continuation of usage, compelling replacement of Panel.
Applicable conditions of Limited Anti Weathering Automatic warranty
- This Warranty covers only products used for roofing and wall cladding.
- The Anti-Weathering warranty of UNICOIL warrants that its products will resist natural weathering for the defined number of years for each product and will conform to the performance standards listed in the Warranty document
- All Pre-Painted Galvanized steels fade and change in appearance, in terms of chalking and gloss to some degree over a period of time in outdoor installations.
- Fading is measured as Color change (DE) and Test methods used for Calculation of Color difference (fading) is latest revisions of ASTM D2244, For chalking ASTM D4214 Method B and for Gloss ASTM D523.
- Measurements of color difference, chalking and gloss are performed on the sample panel collected from the project site, after thorough cleaning of the external deposits (dirt, oil, grease, foreign material, oxidized film) and the reference sample stored indoor in UNICOIL.
- Colors are calssified into Light, Medium and Dark as defined by; CIELAB absolute Color Readings (L,a,b) – Refer to Table below for classification.
- The Color change for the period of warranty will be as stated in the warranty document for vertical exposure and two units more for non-vertical exposure.
- Chalking rating for the period of warranty will be as stated in the warranty document.
- Chalking refers to appearance of a loosely adherent powder on the surface of the film arising from the degradation of the constituents of the paint, usually Binder.
- Gloss Retention % for the period of warranty will be Minimum 30% for all products other than Colorite Fluorocarbon and High Build. For Colorite Fluorocarbon and High Build it will be 50% Min.
- The warranty is applicable to Solid Colors of Light,Medium and Dark. Bright colors and Metallic finishes are excluded.
- The Anti-weathering warranty also warrants that the product does not peel, crack, flake, split, blister or delaminate under NORMAL USE CONDITIONS.
- The Anti-weathering warranty is applicable to the Exposed side of the product and does not cover the back side of the Coated Product.
- Classification of Environment is based on Corrosion Category as per EN10169.
- For special environmental conditions and special products that are not listed in the Anti-weathering automatic warranty table, warranty is agreed and issued as a separate document, after mutual discussion and evaluation.
- This Warranty is applicable solely for Saudi Arabia and GCC countries.
